Valdosta State University is proud to announce its Fall 2017 Dean's List. Students who achieve a semester grade point average of 3.50 or higher on nine or more semester hours with an institutional grade point average of 3.00 or higher are recognized by being placed on the Dean's List. Developmental studies, transients, and graduate students are not eligible for Dean's List status.

University of North Georgia President Bonita Jacobs recognizes students who achieved a 4.0 grade point average during the fall 2017 semester. Students enrolled in 12 or more credit hours in bachelor's degree programs who achieved a 4.0 grade point average were named to the President's Honor Roll. Students enrolled in associate degree programs who met the same level of achievement were named to the President's List.

The deans of each of UNG's five colleges - the College of Arts & Letters, the College of Education, the College of Health Sciences & Professions, the Mike Cottrell College of Business, and the College of Science & Mathematics - announced the names of those students who made their respective lists for fall 2017. Dean's List recognition is achieved by having at least a 3.5 grade point average, carrying 12 or more credit hours in one semester and having no grade lower than B.

Eastern Connecticut State University recently released the names of full-time students who were named to the Dean's List for the fall 2017 semester.

Approximately 2.419 students have made the Fall Semester 2017 Dean's List for academic achievement at Coastal Carolina University. To qualify for the Dean's List, freshmen must earn a 3.25 grade point average, and upperclassmen must earn a 3.5 grade point average.

More than 2,000 JSU students were named to the Fall 2017 Honor's List.

The following local residents made the Fall 2017 President's List at Georgia Southwestern State University and were among 600 students recognized for scholastic achievement.

Students in Kennesaw State's College of Computing and Software Engineering recently demonstrated their talent, creativity and ability to put what they've learned in the classroom into practice during the biannual Computing Showcase, also called C-Day. The culminating event, presented at the end of the fall semester, attracted dozens of student projects which were then judged by 18 industry professionals in five categories. Graduating students displayed their posters, video games and prototypes that highlighted their experiences within internships, team projects, research endeavors, and capstone and thesis work. More than 40 undergraduate and graduate students were honored with first, second and third place honors in five categories. The following local residents made the Fall 2017 Dean's List at Georgia Southwestern State University and were among 600 students recognized for scholastic achievement.

Some 47 Army Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) cadets at the University of North Georgia (UNG) have been ranked in the top 20 percent in the nation out of 5,536 cadets in this year's U.S. Army Cadet Command national Order of Merit List. Ranking in the top 20 percent and higher also carries with it designation as a Distinguished Military Graduate.

Amelia Thomas of Loganville, Georgia, is the recipient of the Fall 2017 President's Award for Academic Excellence for the College of Nursing and Health Sciences at Valdosta State University.

Troy University is pleased to announce students who have been named to the Chancellor's List for Term 1 of the 2017/2018 academic year. Full-time undergraduate students who are registered for 12 semester hours and who earn a grade point average of 4.0 qualify for the Chancellor's List. Term 1 includes students at TROY's campuses in Dothan, Phenix City and Montgomery, Ala., along with teaching sites outside of Alabama and online.

More than 140 students from 10 departments in the College of Arts and Sciences participated in the Fall 2017 Undergraduate STEM Research Conference on Oct. 27, 2017, presenting research, research proposals, or literature on topics of interest.

To be eligible for the Dean's List during the summer semester, degree-seeking students with a minimum Georgia State cumulative GPA of 2.00 must earn a 3.50 GPA for the semester and complete at least 6 semester hours of academic credit with no incompletes.

The Honors College Ambassadors corps is composed of a diverse and dedicated group of outstanding Honors College students who desire to hone their leadership skills, while also contributing to the Honors College legacy. These student leaders serve as representatives of the Honors College at a variety of internal and external events.

Congratulations to the 2017 Global Ambassador Program cohort for successfully completing the program with outstanding leadership and service. The Global Ambassador Program participants demonstrate intercultural communication and leadership skills through conversations, interactions, and acculturation with visiting international students at Georgia State University.
