The university's spring commencement ceremonies were held May 6-8 for some 1,200 participants; in total, UNG conferred more than 1,500 degrees and certificates for spring semester.

The deans of each of UNG's five colleges - the College of Arts & Letters, the College of Education, the College of Health Sciences & Professions, the Mike Cottrell College of Business, and the College of Science & Mathematics - announce the names of some 1,800 students who achieved Dean's List honors for spring 2016.

Dr. Bonita C. Jacobs, president of UNG, recognized more than 1,200 students who earned a 4.0 during the spring 2016 semester. Students enrolled in 12 or more credit hours in bachelor's degree programs who achieved a 4.0 grade point average were named to the President's Honor Roll. Students enrolled in associate degree programs who met the same level of achievement were named to the President's List.

This scholarship provides opportunities to deserving students by offering substantial award amounts of up to $5,000 for Maymester or Summer programs, $7,500 for Fall or Spring semesters abroad, and $15,000 for an Academic Year, depending on financial need and program costs.

The Georgia State University International Education Fee (IEF) Study Abroad Scholarship, initiated in 2004, is funded by the international education student fee.

More than 120 undergraduate students presented their research at the Georgia State Undergraduate Research Conference (GSURC) on Wednesday, April 13. Students from a wide variety of disciplines shared their findings through oral presentations, posters, artistic displays and performances.

The 1913 Society - a student ambassador program established by the Office of the President - provides an opportunity for outstanding undergraduate students to serve as official hosts and goodwill ambassadors for the university.

The Honors College Ambassadors corps is composed of a diverse and dedicated group of outstanding Honors College students who desire to hone their leadership skills, while also contributing to the Honors College legacy. These student leaders serve as representatives of the Honors College at a variety of internal and external events.
